Below is the class roster.
Each meet as many classes will be run as time permits. The following week
classes will continue down the list from where they finished the previous
meet. Members on the mailing list will receive an email after each week's
racing, to confirm where we are up to, with classes for the following
week.
If there are no cars/racers in any given class
then the class will be skipped and the next on the list will be run.

RULES FOR CLASSES
Racing Format:
Normally two classes to be run each meet. More only
if time permits. If there are very few racers they may run two cars per
class and thus have two races per class. The more popular classes will
be run more frequently with GT and LMP being the mainstays.
Each racer will qualify their car or cars (maximum
of two per racer) they propose to run for that days racing for 30 seconds
per car. If the car has been qualified previously and not modified since
then that time may be used in lieu of qualifying to save time. Likewise
a fastest time in a race will be used as a qualifying time in future.
Fastest four qualifiers will form the first semi,
the next four fastest the second semi and so on.
In the case of one racer entering two separate cars
in one race due to low numbers the two cars must qualify far enough apart
to allow this. Should their two cars be too close in qualifying to allow
this then they will have to drop one car and only enter one semi. Similarly
a single car may be cross entered in two races with two separate drivers
if their qualifying times are far enough apart.
Technical rules
1. Must be hard body
2. Wheels must fit within arches when looking from the side
3. Wheels must fit into arches when looking from above
4. Original wheels OR matching wheel inserts front and rear from the time
period the car raced in. Photographic evidence may be requested!!
5. Sufficiently full interior so that no chassis or components can be
seen through the windows, including a non transparent (3) dimensional
driver , consisting of at least head/shoulders/arms and steering wheel,
with at least (2) colours
6. All lights and windscreens must be fitted. Windscreens must remain
clear if the car is supplied with clear screens.
7. Hard tyres. No foam tyres
8. Tyres may be cleaned with water, water with a few drops of detergent
solution, fuelite or sticky tape only. This must be done by hand, not
by doing "burnouts" on the track surface. No tyre goops allowed.
9. Bodies must be fully painted. White bodies with stickers and clear
coat does not qualify as fully painted
10. Bodies must not allow the guide, chassis or any components to be seen
when viewed from above, and chassis or any components from the side, front
or rear.
11. Chassis must appear stock when viewed from the outside with the car
upside down.
12. 0.5 mm ground clearance from chassis, gears or body at the start of
the race. This will be very strictly enforced to avoid track damage. Cars
not complying to this rule are not allowed onto the track under any circumstances!
13. NASCAR, BMW Minis and V8 Supercars must be box stock except for tyres
which must be rubber or urethane. Addition of lead ballast on these three
classes, (and the fitment of a 10 tooth pinion on SCX NASCAR's) are allowed.
Minis must be the models that come with interiors fitted. All these classes
may of course be "blueprinted" ( i.e. wheel/tyre truing, bodies
loosened, axles and bushings aligned, wheel spacers fitted, motors and
bushings glued in place.) New lead wires may be fitted and those silly
capacitors taken out. (This is stuff all beginners should master before
attempting more sophisticated mods anyway) Apart from these modifications
if it didn't come with the car it ain't allowed!
14. JGTC cars-Ninco cars may have no better than NC-5 motor and standard
interiors fitted. Scalextric cars may have light weight interiors.
15. Cars running magnets must have a large "M" written in black
or red permanent marker on the back windshield or behind the cockpit in
open cockpit cars. This may be written on a sticker if desired to ease
removal.
16. Any car not complying with the technical rules can still race but
will not be allowed to qualify and be automatically relegated to the slowest
semi of that class.
Race rules:
1. Races to comprise 2 minute heats in each lane with
45 second lane change periods
2. Power will be cut after two minutes and drivers will move their controller
to the drivers' position to their right and their car moved to the appropriate
lane in the same relative track position as where their car stopped. Thus
white will move to red, red to black, black to yellow, yellow to white.
Don't forget to change lane stickers too!
3. The 45 sec countdown will not be stopped except for track or timing
system failures. Cars may be maintained in the 45 second countdown period.
Marshals may assist with lane changes.
4. Power resumes after the 45 second countdown.
5. "Track" calls can only be made for a car on the floor, car
in an unmarshallable area or track/timing system faults. Power will be
cut for legitimate track calls only. Continued false track calls will
result in a deduction of laps by the racer involved. (Note a simple deslot
is best called as watch out on "……. Lane" rather than calling
track as we do now. Takes a little practice but it is how it is done at
national level)
6. Segments to be recorded at the end of each semi in the case of two
or more cars finishing on the same number of laps.
7. A racer who completes more laps from a slower semi shall be deemed
to be ahead of the driver with fewer laps from the faster semi.
8. In the event two semis are very close in terms of laps done, a final
of the top four drivers may be run if time permits and there is a desire
to do so.
Track Rules:
1. No smoking
2. No abuse of marshals or other drivers. Minor offences may result in
laps being deducted. Serious offences will result in expulsion!
3. No licking of tires (It grosses me out!)
4. No burnouts
5. No mobile calls or texts while marshalling.
